The Story of …

Kevin

Kevin Gutches has always been destined for the spotlight. Born on Christmas Eve and delivered by Dr. Rudolph, his first moments hinted at a life filled with theatrical flair. Arriving home in a tiny Santa hat, Kevin’s entrance into the world was as charming and memorable as the performances he would one day bring to life. Raised in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia, Kevin balanced a childhood of sports—excelling in swimming, basketball, football, baseball, and track—with a growing passion for the stage. It was at Archbishop John Carroll High School that the magic of performing truly captured his heart.

Eager to refine his craft, Kevin moved to New York City to study at Wagner College, where he earned a B.A. in Theater and Speech. From the moment he graduated, his career took flight, with early roles including the national tour of Pinocchio with American Family Theater and the 30th Anniversary National Tour of Annie. These formative experiences were more than stepping stones—they were the beginning of a lifelong love affair with the stage.

Over the years, Kevin’s talent has graced stages near and far. He lit up Broadway in the 2012 revival of Annie and shone in regional productions of Spamalot, Into the Woods, My Fair Lady, Happy Days, and Sweeney Todd. Touring with Mame, he shared the stage with luminaries like Andrea McArdle and Lea DeLaria, and as Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon, he captivated international audiences with his pitch-perfect blend of comedy and heart.

But Kevin’s creativity doesn’t end when the curtain falls. His work offstage has been just as impactful, from entertaining fans through R Family Vacations, The Broadway Cruise, and the inaugural Nickelodeon cruise to founding GDesignsIT, his own business dedicated to custom artwork and immersive design. Whether crafting one-of-a-kind creations or reimagining how people experience art, Kevin brings the same passion and innovation that define his stage performances.

Now, Kevin finds himself in an exciting new role as the Touring Front of House Manager for The Empire Strips Back, a wildly inventive burlesque parody. In this position, he blends his love of theater with his expertise in connecting with audiences, ensuring that each guest leaves with an unforgettable memory.

Represented by RPT Entertainment (NY) and a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association, Kevin Gutches continues to push the boundaries of creativity, weaving together his many talents to delight audiences and inspire those around him. His journey—equal parts heart, humor, and a touch of holiday magic—reminds us all of the power of performance to transform and uplift.
